Souq
Souq at Chapel House
Chapel House provides a welcoming and flexible setting for hosting a Souq—a community-centred marketplace that brings together culture, creativity, small enterprise, and social connection.
Rooted in traditions of exchange and gathering, a Souq at Chapel House offers more than buying and selling; it creates space for conversation, discovery and shared experience. As a refurbished community facility in Forest Fields, Nottingham, the venue is well suited to hosting Souqs that reflect local culture, craftsmanship and community spirit.
Spaces for the Souq
Chapel House offers two adaptable halls that can be used individually or together, depending on the scale of the Souq.
The Great Hall
The Great Hall provides an open, accessible space ideal for stall-based layouts, artisan displays, cultural goods, books, clothing and community traders. Its layout supports clear visitor flow and social interaction.
The Studio Hall
The Studio Hall is well suited for smaller stalls, themed sections, workshops, demonstrations, or quieter browsing areas. When both halls are hired together, the Studio Hall provides access to a large kitchen with full cooking facilities, supporting food stalls, refreshments or community-led catering.
Using Both Halls Together
The Great Hall and the Studio Hall can be opened through internal connecting doors, creating one extended Souq space. This allows organisers to design zones for trading, food, crafts, and community interaction.
